Ines Thora

The artist's works emerge from an intuitive, emotional process and reflect her inner world.

Instead of explaining or titling her works, she develops her own visual language that makes moods, gestures, and the energy of painting itself visible – often through traces of hands and fingers on the surface. A central element of her practice is working on found fabrics such as old canvases, bedsheets, or tablecloths, materials that already carry a history and traces of use. She combines these existing traces with her own painterly gesture, thus creating a connection between memory and the present.

Experimentation, material exploration, and the open, sometimes recalcitrant process of painting form the core of her artistic work.
