This original Dümler & Breiden vintage vase dates from the 1970s and is a distinctive example of iconic West German Pottery. Its compact form is defined by a striking Fat Lava glaze in warm shades of brown, beige, and black, creating a richly textured surface with remarkable depth. A particularly unusual feature is the decorative metal chain handles suspended between the side loops, giving the vase its bold, almost sculptural character.
The underside bears the original Dümler & Breiden maker's mark along with the model number 1131/15, confirming the piece's authenticity. With its earthy colour palette and expressive glaze, the vase complements Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, Wabi-Sabi, and Bohemian interiors, whether displayed as a standalone object or alongside other studio ceramics.
The vase is in very good vintage condition with age-related signs of wear. The glaze, form, and naturally developed patina enhance the authentic character of this original 1970s collector's piece.
